Achieving your best performance takes more than just training your body. My philosophy unites body, mind and spirit.
Only when you combine all three can you really achieve your best performance.
From skiing at the age of 4 to many years playing tennis, handball and triathlon, sport has always been a central theme in my life.
Triathlon has been my passion since 2007, for which I competed in sprint, middle and long distances.
The biggest challenge for me is the long distance triathlon. A year of hard preparation that results in a single day of swimming, cycling and running 140 miles. A true test of physical and mental endurance.
When I was preparing for my first Ironman all by myself in 2010, I made a lot of mistakes in the race. I had no idea about mental training and hadn't spent time on competition nutrition. After that I decided on a trainer and his guided training plan. This also included mental training and nutrition.
When I crossed the finish line in 3 Ironman competitions, the hard work at the finish always paid off. The feeling at the finish is indescribably great.
As a certified coach, I now focus on comprehensive training plans, cardio and strength training, nutrition, recovery and much more. I am medically certified as a personal trainer to support my athletes when they have been injured and are recovering from injuries.
For me, optimal performance can only be achieved when mind and body work together as one. The mental side should not be underestimated, especially in endurance sports.
